Basic Plan and Simple White Sauce (Salicylate Free)
¼ cup butter
¼ cup all purpose flour
2 cups milk
Salt (to taste)
Melt the butter in a saucepan and whisk or stir in the flour until well blended.
Remove from heat and gradually stir in the milk.
Put back on the burner at medium heat and cook.
Stir constantly, until mixture thickens.
Add salt to taste.
Makes 2 cups (recipe can be doubled, tripled, etc.).

PS - this is just a basic recipe feel free to play with it by adding in garlic, leeks, parmesan cheese or whatever else you can think of.
